In this project, shape grammars were employed to systematize material manipulations through both visual and embodied operations. Needled Insulated Lining was selected as the primary material for exploration. As a composite consisting of fuzzy outer layers and a reflective inner membrane, it offered a diverse range of experimental possibilities. Techniques such as shaving the fuzzy surface, burning, cutting, stretching, folding, and combining these actions with generated patterns revealed distinct material behaviors and expressive potentials.
